JOB TITLE: Material Handler

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

JOB CATEGORY: Machine Operator I

Schedule: Monday – Thursday 6am-4:30pm

SUMMARY:

Duties including shipping orders, stocking machines with materials, maintain storage areas, keeping track of inventory. May load, unload, move, deliver, and inventory materials as required. Works to verbal and written instructions. Keeps necessary records, verifies shipping material. Acts to maintain the integrity of processes and products.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain inventory location of storage areas (trailers, racks, machines)
  • PIT operations required, Fork, Pole electric lift and High Stacker
  • Keeps safety records of fork trucks daily
  • Loads orders verifying paperwork
  • Stages orders as necessary
  • Uses scanners to inventory transfer
  • To properly load and unload all shipments
  • To properly warehouse all inventory
  • Creates all documentation associated with shipments
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all departments
  • Maintain accurate records of all movement for proper inventory levels
  • Computer skills (Excel and Word)
  • Ability to multitask
  • Task oriented
  • Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRED TRAINING:

  • Fork truck (includes pole truck, high lift, electric jack)
  • Required OSHA Safety Training
  • Computer knowledge (E-1)
  • PPE
  • On job safety review
  • Basic Lean Methodology

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Mentally and physically alert at all times
  • Good vision and depth perception
  • Frequent off and on fork truck for prolonged periods
  • Constant walking / standing
  • Lifting, pulling and pushing
