Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a Safety‑mocused material handler to operate forklifts, move loads, and support production flow at our Michigan facility. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and timely material readiness for internal and external customers.

Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED and be able to read and follow instructions; HiLo driving experience is preferred. This is a full‑time on‑site position with growth opportunities in a hands‑on manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to follow work instructions and safety procedures.
• One month related experience or training; or equivalent education/experience.
• Previous material handling experience preferred.
• Previous HiLo driving experience preferred.
• High standards of performance for self; reliable and honest.

Responsibilities

• Observes and complies with safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
• Participates in needs analysis and training programs identified for this position.
• Supports continuous improvement activities and independent objective auditing.
• Stops work on processes when suspect material or defective products are found.
• Operates forklift to move loads and position forks or lifting devices.
• Unloads and stacks material using lifting devices; inventories materials on the work floor.
• Works with weights and records weights on tags or schedules.
• Loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets or lifting devices.
• Recharges batteries or replaces liquefied gas tanks as needed.
