Job summary

NorthSlopeTelecom,Inc. in Anchorage, Alaska, is seeking a dependable Materials Handler to support our warehouse operations and telecommunications infrastructure projects.

You will receive, organize, pick, kit, stage, and safely move materials to ensure project teams have the correct equipment when needed. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and committed to maintaining accurate inventory and material records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Up to two years of experience in warehouse operations, material handling, shipping and receiving, inventory, logistics, construction support, or a related field.
• Active and valid driver's license.
• Basic understanding of warehouse organization and safe material-handling practices.
• Ability to read and follow packings slips, labels, pick lists, kit lists, and material-handling instructions.
• Ability to learn and use computers, tablets, scanners, inventory systems, and material-tracking tools.
• Ability to safely lift, move, load, unload, and organize materials in accordance with company safety requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and promptly communicate material discrepancies or safety concerns.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials and verify quantities, condition, identification, and documentation.
• Match packing slips, labels, and shipment information with purchase orders or project records.
• Identify and report damaged, missing, incorrect, or unidentified materials.
• Pick and kit materials using approved pick lists, bills of material, and project requests.
• Package, label, protect, and stage materials for shipment, pickup, delivery, or field use.
• Load, unload, lift, carry, palletize, wrap, and safely move materials.
• Maintain organized warehouse, yard, shop, and staging areas.
• Support inventory reviews, cycle counts, material reconciliation, and location checks.
• Prepare materials for shipment and coordinate local deliveries with project and field personnel.
• Maintain accurate receiving, inventory, staging, shipment, and discrepancy records.
• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment only when properly trained and authorized.
• Follow all company safety procedures and promptly report hazards, damaged equipment, or material-handling concerns.

RequiredQualifications

PreferredQualifications
