Job Summary

Under directive supervision, the Material Handler receives, stores, retrieves, issues, counts, relocates, and conveys materials, tools, parts, supplies, and equipment to designated locations and employees following company practices and procedures.

Job Description

Duties

• Receive, identify, label, issue, store, retrieve, load, move, unload, and relocate materials and equipment using appropriate conveyance and lifting devices, ensuring compliance with department procedures.
• Count and check shipments for damage, verify receipt against Purchase Orders, and attach identifying tags or markings.
• Perform physical inventories and report findings as per prescribed procedures.
• Prepare Bills of Lading and erect or relocate racks, shelving, and cabinets as needed.
• Use power tools safely and effectively.
• Train and instruct lower classification employees.
• Maintain accurate records related to work activities.
• Ensure work area and equipment are clean and in good condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including less skilled tasks.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the company's general qualifications, possess all Material Handler qualifications, and:

• Have at least 2.5 years of experience as a Material Handler Trainee or equivalent.
• Demonstrate aptitude and ability in Material Handler duties.
• Follow job orders, drawings, and company policies for handling materials.
• Thoroughly understand safety practices, department procedures, and equipment operation.
• Be capable of making accurate records and reports.
• Communicate effectively and work harmoniously with team members.
• Complete all required training prescribed by the company.
