Overview
The Material Handler I is responsible for inventory management, cycle counts, receipt of goods, and kitting customer orders. Additional duties may include processing domestic shipping orders.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Accept receipt of products and ensure materials are in good condition.
- Unpack and check goods received against purchase orders or invoices.
- Operate effectively in our ERP system for goods receipts, production orders, and shipments.
- Maintain all records related to incoming goods.
- Reject unsatisfactory items and assess the need to file claims with carriers.
- Participate in weekly cycle counts and assist with reconciliation of item variances.
- Kitting raw materials into finished goods following Standard Operating Procedures.
- Process customer orders through the NAV ERP system.
- Verify inventory locations and availability for shipment against purchase order requirements.
- Package outbound shipments for domestic and international customers.
- Fulfill internal orders of consumable lab supplies and reagents.
- Manage on-hand inventory and coordinate with purchasing to meet requirements.
- Collaborate with Finance on inventory-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- 0-2 years of warehouse experience managing inventories and kitting customer orders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: prior warehouse and inventory management experience.
- Strong team player with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- Attention to detail and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel.
- Professional demeanor.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in biotech/life sciences industry (GMP experience).
- Familiarity with ERP systems, especially Microsoft Navision.
- Certification in powered industrial trucks preferred.
