Job summary

AriensCo in Wisconsin is seeking a motivated Materials Technician on 1st shift to plan and coordinate material replenishment for manufacturing of industrial products. You will coordinate flow of purchased components, train and coach material handlers, and ensure standard work is followed to keep production running smoothly.

The role requires an Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s preferred), at least one year of related experience, and forklift/high-lift certification preferred.

• Minimum of one-year related experience and/or training
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Forklift and high lift certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates the flow of purchased components to support all processes according to established manufacturing plans and lead times
• Trains and coaches material handlers and parts pickers within their assigned areas; ensures compliance with established standard work
• Proactively contacts suppliers to expedite and de-expedite in coordination with Material Leader
• Launches purchase orders to obtain material
• Involves supply management team to obtain action, when necessary
• Manage the process to issue signals to suppliers to deliver material (electronic kanban, kanban cards, labels) to assigned areas
• Respond to failed purchase orders to resolve supplier delivery issues
• Order materials and supplies as needed
• Coordinates problem solving activities and implements corrective actions for root causes of material-related production interruptions
• Responsible for 6S activities and production control board maintenance, in coordination with the Material Leader
• Maintains the Manufacturing Order (MO) system and/or purchase orders per area
• Coordinates the disposition of all material rejects per area
• Maintains pull systems for assigned areas
• Monitors deliveries for timeliness and resolves late deliveries with suppliers
• Communicates concerns that may cause delays in production and contributes to alternate plans
• Develops, improves, and maintains visual inventory management (kanban cards, baskets, signs, labels)
• Controls the creation of serial numbers for finished goods
