Job summary

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a Material Handler to coordinate material movement, pull materials, and support production schedules.

You will perform computer transactions, relay information to Material Support, and assist during peak times with equipment operation and data entry. The role requires good organizational skills, basic math and computer abilities, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of relevant experience and/or training preferred.
• Forklift certification a plus.
• Basic math and computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates material movement between departments per routing requirements.
• Sorts questionable materials per Quality Control’s request.
• Prints and distributes pick tickets and performs computer transactions as necessary.
• Organizes sequence of pulling material and relays information to Material Support.
• Ensures production schedules are met by timely and accurate processing and movement of goods.
• Assists during daily peak times to include operating material handling equipment and perform all necessary computer transactions.
• Ensures good communication and feedback with management, employees on their shift, and between shifts.
• When assigned, assists the supervisor/area manager with Continuous Improvement Projects, evaluation of new equipment, determination of training needs and interviewing/hiring.
• Monitors and enforces shop floor control systems.
• Follows all safety procedures, wears proper PPE.
• Proactively identifies and corrects unsafe conditions.
• Studies systems and procedures for opportunities for improvement.
