Daimler Truck North America is seeking a Materials Engineering Technician to provide laboratory support for the MPT team, from ideation through end of life, ensuring heavy‑duty powertrain components meet Daimler Truck and industry requirements.

This onsite role in Detroit, MI offers a comprehensive benefits package and a starting salary range of $65,000 - $83,000 USD, with pay dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience. Relocation assistance is not available.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant experience or AA degree + 1 year of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with heavy-duty powertrain components.
• Familiarity with industrial sectioning equipment and environments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex work plans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for Materials Engineers conducting materials characterization and failure analysis via testing, sectioning and sample preparation of heavy-duty powertrain components.
• Support laboratory equipment preventative maintenance programs.
• Assist laboratory processes such as inventory management, consumable purchases and quality initiatives.
