Job summary
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory invites Materials Engineering students to join our team for a 10–12 week internship in May/June 2027. You'll work on developing next-generation materials for nuclear propulsion systems, support ongoing projects, and provide technical input for Navy reactors.

Qualifications
- Pursuing Materials Engineering, Welding Engineering or related engineering or science BS, MS or PhD degrees from an accredited college or university.
- Must have completed at least first full year of college by May 2027.
- Enrolled/continuing in a degree program throughout this internship.
Responsibilities
- Assist in design, coordination, and documentation of material test programs.
- Analyze and model test program data and apply advanced materials characterization techniques.
- Support fabrication, manufacturing, and qualification of components.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders on emergent issues.
