Job summary

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory offers a 10–12 week internship for Materials Engineering students for Summer 2027, focusing on developing next-generation materials for nuclear propulsion systems and supporting the US Navy's operating plants. You will collaborate with experienced engineers, design and document material test programs, and engage with multiple stakeholders during a mission-driven internship.

Selected candidates may be offered a return internship or full-time opportunity.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Materials Engineering, Welding Engineering or related engineering or science BS, MS or PhD degrees from an accredited college or university
• Must have completed at least first full year of college by May 2027
• Enrolled/continuing in a degree program throughout this internship
