Job summary

Y-12 National Security Complex is seeking a Development Foundry Technical Lead to guide a team of technicians in metallurgical experiments and equipment operation. You will drive process development for technology insertion and coordinate R&D activities from bench to pilot scale while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will perform hands-on laboratory work, analyze data, prepare procedures, and support engineers, scientists, and customers on priority tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Associate's degree with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Eight or more years of relevant education, training and/or progressive experience may be considered to satisfy educational and year of experience requirements for this posting.

Responsibilities

• Lead technicians in the laboratory, executing experiments and operating metallurgical equipment.
• Plan, prioritize and coordinate work to meet project schedules and customer needs.
• Train manufacturing personnel on prototype systems and ensure safety and housekeeping.
