Baystate Health is seeking a Materials Technician Lead in Distribution Services to oversee receipt, verification, and secure delivery of materials across inpatient and clinical areas in Springfield, MA. Lead Technicians I & II, mentor staff, and optimize workflows to support inventory control and cost containment.

The role requires healthcare distribution experience and strong systems knowledge, with a GED/HiSET as a minimum and proficiency in handling materials management software.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of materials management and supply chain operations in healthcare.
• Ability to lead staff and manage workflow to meet departmental objectives.
• Strong knowledge of health system materials control and inventory practices.

Responsibilities

• Leads the materials technician staff and resolves customer and personnel issues.
• Performs functions of Materials Technician I & II to support daily objectives.
• Ensures timely, accurate completion of daily tasks and proper goods put-away.
• Problem solving: review and elevate issues to management as needed.
• Delivers high-quality customer service meeting department standards.
• R rounds daily to support areas and assess productivity.
• Acts as liaison between supply chain colleagues and customers.
• Maintains work quality, safety, and adherence to policies.
• Serves as a Super-User of inventory systems (e.g., Pyxis, handhelds).
• Supports quality control for orders and product integrity.
• Responds to urgent deliveries and communicates with stakeholders.
• Provides training to staff and helps set departmental goals.
