Job summary

Technique is seeking a Materials Coordinator at our Jackson, Michigan facility to manage receiving, inspection, storage, and inventory of materials, hardware, and customer supplied components. The role reports to the Supply Chain Manager in Purchasing and requires safe work practices in a manufacturing environment.

The candidate should have 2+ years in a warehouse setting, knowledge of sheet metal grades, and experience with material handling equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years in a warehouse setting.
• Knowledge of sheet metal grades and tool steels (ASTM, SAE, AISI & JIS).
• Experience operating material handling equipment.
• Read blueprints and understand specifications (Level 2).
• Basic computer skills; advanced for Level 2 (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to use inventory software and maintain inventory.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds and be active.

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment; obtain forklift and overhead crane license.
• Perform receiving inspections of incoming materials.
• Organize and stage material for use.
• Verify material dimensions with calipers, micrometers and tape measures.
• Safely handle material per safety procedures.
• Distribute job folders to support production.
• Process receivers in the E2 shop system.
• Seek continuous improvement opportunities within the department.
• File material certifications and maintain material traceability (Level 2).
• Maintain inventory levels for stock material and re-order tags (Level 2).
• Cycle count sheet and tube inventory and adjust E2 (Level 2).
• Handle non-conforming material (Level 2).
• Process inventory adjustments in E2 (Level 2).
