Job summary

Technique is seeking a Materials Coordinator for our Jackson, Michigan facility. This role supports the Purchasing department under the Supply Chain Manager, handling receiving, inspection, staging, and inventory control of materials and components.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in warehousing, knowledge of sheet metal grades (ASTM/SAE/AISI/JIS), and experience operating material handling equipment. Level 2 duties expand on Level 1 responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years in a warehouse setting.
• Knowledge of various grades of sheet metal and tool steels (ASTM, SAE, AISI & JIS).
• Experience operating material handling equipment.
• Read blueprints and understand specifications (Level 2).
• Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Ability to prioritize and work on cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment.
• Perform receiving inspection.
• Organize and stage material.
• Verify material dimensions with calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
• Safely handle material per safety procedures.
• Distribute job folders to support production.
• Process receivers in the E2 shop system.
• Seek continuous improvements within the department.
• File material certifications and maintain traceability (Level 2).
• Maintain inventory levels and perform cycle counts (Level 2).
• Handle non-conforming material (Level 2).
• Process inventory adjustments in E2 (Level 2).
