Technique Inc. in Jackson, Michigan seeks a Materials Coordinator to join the Purchasing department. This full-time role reports to the Supply Chain Manager and focuses on receiving, inspecting, stocking, and inventorying materials, hardware, and customer components while upholding safety standards.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in a warehouse, knowledge of sheet metal grades, and experience operating material handling equipment. Level 2 responsibilities build on Level 1 competencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years in a warehouse setting.
• Knowledge of sheet metal grades and tool steels (ASTM, SAE, AISI & JIS).
• Experience operating material handling equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand specs (Level 2).
• Proficient with inventory software and basic MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment and obtain licenses to forklift and crane.
• Perform receiving inspection of incoming materials.
• Organize and stage material for use.
• Verify material dimensions with calipers, micrometers, and tapes.
• Safely handle material per safety procedures.
• Distribute job folders to support production.
• Process receivers in the E2 shop system.
• Seek continuous improvement within the department.
• File material certifications and maintain traceability (Level 2).
• Maintain and adjust inventory levels; cycle count materials.
• Handle non-conforming material (Level 2).
• Process inventory adjustments in E2 (Level 2).
