Job summary

Flex-N-Gate is seeking a Materials Coordinator to plan inbound materials, purchase components, packaging and sub-suppliers, and oversee receivers in line with policies and goals. You will work closely with the Materials Manager to ensure smooth production flow and on-time shipping.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in the automotive industry
• 2 years inventory control experience
• Experience with steel/aluminum is an asset
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office
• Must be motivated, service- and team-oriented with attention to detail
• Strong analytical ability
• Supervisory and interpersonal skills are required
• Troubleshooting ability
• Detail oriented
• Good computer skills

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all incoming logistics planning with suppliers
• Inventory control using ERP and cycle counts
• Maintain knowledge of PPAP, TS16949, ISO14001, MSDS, CTPAT and Health & Safety requirements
• Be on-call from the plant after hours
• Issue firm and forecast releases to vendors for production items
• Coordinate receiving schedules for smooth flow of incoming products
• Maintain minimum inventory levels and monitor accuracy regularly
• Collaborate with Manufacturing to designate storage locations and maintain maps
• Verify receipt data entry and monitor FIFO of raw materials
• Assist in training Receivers on CMS and other databases
• CMS database–Purchasing and Inventory expert; troubleshoot discrepancies
• Ensure MSDS on file for items purchased
• Coordinate outbound shipments related to vendors/production
• Report monthly Supplier Performance for QOS
• Work with Quality Supervisors on supplier quality issues
