Brunel is hiring a Materials Coordinator to work with a major O&G client in Midland, TX on a long term contract.
Position Overview
The Materials Coordinator is responsible for managing all activities required for effective end-to-end coordination of materials to support ongoing projects. This role serves as the key liaison between the business unit and procurement teams, ensuring materials and services are efficiently sourced, tracked, and delivered. The position requires daily interaction with planning, inventory, vendors, buyers, and maintenance personnel to maintain alignment with business practices and controls, and to ensure a high level of fulfillment for site maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary interface between the business unit and procurement for all material coordination activities.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with planning, inventory, vendors, buyers, and maintenance teams.
- Provide input on risk-based equipment spares stocking strategies that balance reliability and cost optimization.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with the return of parts to stock or vendors for credit, including management of core returns within the mining industry.
- Execute system transactions related to material movement and coordinate logistics for repair and return stock materials.
- Maintain compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and business controls throughout all material coordination processes.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in materials coordination, supply chain, or procurement, preferably within the industrial, mining, or energy sectors.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, procurement processes, and logistics coordination.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and manage competing priorities.
