Job summary

NSG Group in Lexington, KY seeks an experienced supervisor to oversee shipping and logistics operations, coordinate the scheduled team, and ensure safe, efficient deliveries. You will lead a shift, review shipment schedules, and resolve issues to maintain on-time performance.

The role requires mentoring and training staff, enforcing safety, and coordinating with Materials Team Leaders for priority customers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years recent supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to utilize a computer-based inventory control system.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate to create a positive work environment including team building, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Resolution of employee-related issues including mentoring and training.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent customer relations and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proficient in the English language (verbal and written).
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects weighing 1 to 70 lbs without assistance.

  • Understand current/potential expedites during shift.
  • Coordinate assignments and responsibilities to the scheduled team members.
  • Pre-shift Safety Walk to advise team on items to address and current conditions.
  • Green Circle Meeting- Prep/Delivery- ANY UNSAFE CONDITIONS.
  • Coordinate shipping dock operations.
  • Understand priority of customers as assigned by Materials Specialist or Materials Team Leader.
  • Understand current customer condition to ensure proper flow of deliveries.
  • Coordinate the order/load flow to staging; assess time before load out and window time.
  • Coordinate dunnage handling and customer/route specific requirements.
  • Shipment Close and Communication.
  • Confirmation of ASN/Short Ship/Customer Contact.
  • Process/Operations Failure Escalation Process.
