Job summary

Default Brand in Lexington, VA seeks a first-line supervisor for manufacturing operations to lead shift teams, coordinate work, and ensure safe, on-time deliveries.

You will mentor staff, resolve issues, maintain inventory control, and communicate with Materials team to prioritize orders and expedites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years recent supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Ability to utilize a computer-based inventory control system.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate to create positive work environment including team building, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
• Resolution of employee-related issues including mentoring and training.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Excellent customer relations and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Proficient in the English language (verbal and written).
• Without assistance, must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push and/or pull objects weighing from 1 to 70 lbs.

• Understand current/potential expedites during shift.
• Coordinates assignments and responsibilities to the scheduled team members.
• Pre-shift Safety Walk to advise team on items to address and current conditions.
• Green Circle Meeting- Prep/Delivery- ANY UNSAFE CONDITIONS.
• Understand priority of customers as assigned by Materials Specialist or Materials Team Leader.
• Understanding of current customer condition to ensure proper flow of standard delivery, expedite mode, critical deliveries.
• Coordinates the order/load flow to staging; assess time before load out and window time.
• Coordinates dunnage handling and customer/route specific requirements.
• Shipment Close and Communication
• Confirmation of ASN/Short Ship/Customer Contact
• Process/Operations Failure Escalation Process
