Winkelmann Flowforming Technologies (Aerospace and Defense Manufacturer) in Auburn, AL is seeking a skilled Material Coordinator to join our manufacturing team. The Material Coordinator ensures the seamless flow of materials, parts, and finished products across shipping, receiving, warehouse storage, and production areas. This role balances physical logistics (including loading, packing, and material handling) with administrative duties such as managing ERP transactions, maintaining inventory accuracy, and coordinating shipment schedules. By maintaining an organized facility and supporting production demands, this position plays a vital role in operational efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement. Duties and Responsibilities
- Shipping & Receiving : Receive incoming materials, verify quantities/condition, and put items away. Pack and prepare materials, parts, and finished products for shipment.
- Logistics & Scheduling : Schedule, coordinate, and track shipments, pickups, material deliveries, and scrap/recycling services.
- Production Support : Supply materials and parts to production lines. Engrave and clean parts as required prior to shipment. Assist other production stations as assigned by the Team Leader.
- Inventory Control : Perform ERP transactions for material movements, shipping, receiving, and production reporting. Conduct cycle counts, audits, and checks of packaging, MRO items, and other materials. Investigate shortages, discrepancies, and variances.
- Documentation : Support travelers and other production-related material documentation and recordkeeping.
- Equipment & Safety : Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse, MRO, and material storage area. Operate and assist with forklift and crane activities, including loading and unloading. Follow all policies and safety requirements.
- Continuous Improvement : Support initiatives related to material flow, inventory accuracy, organization, and efficiency.
- Experience : Previous experience in materials, warehouse, shipping, receiving, logistics, inventory, or manufacturing required. Forklift and international shipping experience preferred.
- Technical Skills : Basic proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Basic math and computer skills.
- Physical Demands : Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
