Job summary

State of Florida Department of Transportation is seeking a Materials Manager-Certifications to evaluate and improve material processes for construction programs in District 1 & 7, ensuring data accuracy and stakeholder communication.

The role requires supervising two staff, ensuring compliance with CFR requirements, and delivering timely technical support and guidance to customers while advancing the department’s mission and TRREC values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience evaluating road and bridge materials.
• Experience evaluating and improving projects and processes to ensure consistent results.
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Responsibilities

• Review Quality Control plans, Construction plans, specifications and procedures to support the Department’s mission.
• Prepare Materials Certification in accordance with CFR SUBCHAPTER G, PART 637, Subpart B – Quality Assurance Procedures for Construction.
• Provide clear comments and timely feedback to customers; offer practical solutions when proposing approaches.
• Supervise two employees; allocate resources and ensure quality and quantity of work.
• Analyze materials data for contract and procedural compliance; correct errors and notify stakeholders.
