Qualifications

• Advanced Degree (PhD, MD) in directly related field.
• Seven years of experience in corporate development, business development, external innovation, translational research, R&D strategy, or related roles.
• U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident required due to Federal Export Controls.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, per JHU equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Engage faculty and build relationships across Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, and related units.
• Identify industry partners and translate market signals into collaboration opportunities.
• Shape sponsor-ready proposals, define scope, deliverables, and timelines.
• Coordinate handoffs to Tech Transfer and FastForward, ensuring alignment.
• Maintain CRM and pipeline updates; track opportunities through lifecycle.
• Collaborate with domain specialists to identify cross-disciplinary opportunities.
