Job summary

Daikin Applied in Faribault North is hiring for a shipping/receiving associate on a weekend Fri-Sun 6am-6pm shift. The role involves moving parts, loading/unloading trucks, and maintaining accurate shipping records in a climate controlled facility.

You will operate a yard tractor, use rigging equipment, and ensure safety with proper PPE. Strong reading skills and high school education or equivalent are required; training is provided and growth opportunities exist.

Qualifications

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
• The ability to read and understand written English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.

Responsibilities

• Ship, receive, and move parts and finished goods.
• Operate a yard tractor to move trailers and back them to docks for unloading/loading.
• Use rigging equipment to lift and load/unload cargo.
• Unload/load and move materials with a powered industrial truck (PIT).
• Inspect equipment and perform safety checks.
• Complete shipping/receiving reports and records.
• Unpack and examine incoming shipments; coordinate with shippers to resolve damages.
• Move items to storage, kitting areas, or production areas.
• Maintain inventory location records and paper flow.
• May perform cycle counting.
• Assemble containers and pack parts for shipping.
• Train team members on equipment operation.

Your Responsibilities:

• Responsible for shipping,receivingand moving parts, materials, and finishedgoods


• Operates a yard tractor to move trailers in the yard and back trailers to the loading dock for unloading andloading


• Utilizes rigging equipment, such as hoists and marine lifts, and grappling devices appropriate to the weight and size of the cargo to lift and load/unloadtrucks


• Unloads/loads and moves materials and parts with a powered industrial truck (PIT)


• Inspects equipment to ensure it is in good operating condition, including tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, etc.


• Completes equipment safety checks and follows safetyprocedures


• Completes shipping and/or receiving reports andrecords


• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages andshortages


• Reads work orders or follows verbal instructions toascertainmaterials or containers to bemoved


• Moves items into and out of storage, kitting area, and/or productionareas


• Maintains necessary information and records for inventory locations on the computer and ensuresappropriate paperflow with the materials/goods throughout theprocess


• May perform cycle countingfunctions


• Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembledcontainers


• Packs and seals parts, coils, or sections into or onto fabricated containers or skids


• Installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage intransit


• Ensures the shipping paperwork isaccurateand theappropriate documentsare shipped with theload


• Trains team members in the operation of various equipment,proceduresand work instructions


• All other duties asassigned
