Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas, a leading HVAC company, is seeking candidates for manufacturing roles in Minnesota. Starting wage ranges from $27.64 to $33.87 per hour, with comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision, pension, and tuition reimbursement.

Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, setting up and operating brake presses, measuring parts, and ensuring quality. Candidates should be able to read English, lift heavy materials, and work in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to read/interpret blueprints, sketches or product specifications.
• Ability to read and follow engineered requirements and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches or product specs to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling and installing sheet metal products.
• Set up, program and operate brake presses per outlined methods to form parts.
• Set stops or guides to specified lengths and align work pieces with dies or blades.
• Position work piece against stops or layout marks.
• Coordinate foot and hand motions to operate equipment.
• Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Measure work piece dimensions to ensure accuracy.
• Make adjustments to machines and programs; remove burrs and rust to meet quality standards.
• Perform minor maintenance on machines, dies or pieces.
• Stack, mark and transport finished parts.
• Use measuring equipment like tape, caliper, hook rule.
• Train new employees on machines, procedures and safety practices.
• Maintain the 5S program for a clean work area.
• Follow safety manuals and company policies.
• Identify and rework defective pieces to quality standards.
• Operate PIT and obtain PIT license.
• All other duties as assigned.

Your Responsibilities:

Set up, program, andoperatebrake pressesin accordance with outlined methods and procedures tosafely and properly form various parts.

Coordinate foot and hand motions tooperateequipment, including foot pedals.

Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.

Measure work piece dimensions todetermineaccuracy of machine operation.

Make adjustmentsonmachineand programs asrequired; remove burrs, sharp edges,rustor scale from workpiecetocomply withquality standards.

Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies or work pieces.

Stack, mark and transport finished parts.

Knowledge of Manufacturing software and Spreadsheet software. Ability to set up andoperateall brakes in their work area to qualify for Master Brake Operator designation, including properlymaking adjustments, consistently using pre-controls, and meeting or exceeding quality requirements.

Ability to use measuring equipment such as tape measure, caliper, hook rule, etc.

Train new members on the various machines, procedures, safe work practices and any pertinent itemsregardingsafety,qualityand production.

Responsible formaintainingthe 5s program to ensure a clean work area.

Follow and understandHOMESafe, Persona Choice and company safety manual requirements.

Identifyand rework defective work pieces tocomply withquality standards.

Ability to use hand tools.

Operate PIT (Powered IndustrialTrucks),obtain PIT License.

All other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications:

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
• The ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
