Job summary

Lockheed Martin in the United States is seeking an Aeronautical Engineer Sr for the Skunk Works team, responsible for advanced aeronautics system development and material review processes.

You will lead anomaly investigations, develop technical dispositions, and coordinate across disciplines to implement corrective actions while supporting production and managing the financial impact of engineering decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Civil Engineering.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance with special program access.
  • Prior experience with aircraft design, assembly, or repair.
  • Experience with aircraft materials and limitations, state-of-the-art measurement and tooling techniques, field maintenance and repair support.
  • Basic structural understanding in solution development is required.
  • Experience with program execution in a multi-company teaming/partnering environment.

Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Investigate anomalies and develop technical dispositions for high‑performance platform components.
  • Coordinate with Stress/Durability, Quality Assurance, Structures, Systems Design and other groups to implement corrective actions.
  • Support production operations and integrate process improvements into daily workflows.
  • Manage financial impact of engineering decisions and ensure timely technical resolutions.
  • Maintain Material Review certification and support 1st‑shift schedule requirements.

Further Information About This Opportunity

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN -This position is located at a facility that requiresspecial access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secretclearance to start.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors or masters degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Civil Engineering field
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance with special program access
  • Prior experience with aircraft design, assembly, or repair
  • Experience with aircraft materials and limitations, state‑of‑the‑art measurement and tooling techniques, field maintenance and repair support
  • Basic structural understanding in solution development is required
  • Experience with program execution in a multi‑company teaming/partnering environment
Desired Skills
  • Prior Material Review experience highly desired
  • Strong internal and external customer focus
  • Ability to make technical decisions and evaluations of non‑conforming products with little outside input in an expedient manner
  • CATIA V5, Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with most types of aircraft materials and fabrication processes such as composites, metals, harness wiring and tubing
  • Prior experience with military aircraft design, assembly, or repair
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Blueprint reading/GD&T
  • Self‑starting logical problem sover
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $76700.00 - $142500.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
