Job summary

Assurant in Irving, TX is seeking a floor supervisor to assist in training and developing the team, monitor production performance, and ensure quality controls are met in the assigned area.

You will work with Supervisors, coordinate with Engineering and other departments, track attendance, participate in 6S audits, and support escalations on the shop floor. This role requires 1+ years of lead experience and forklift certification if needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year lead or supervisory experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
• Forklift certification if needed for area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist Supervisors in training and developing the team.
• Monitor production performance and quality controls.
• Attend daily stand-up meetings with Supervisor and participate in internal/external meetings.
• Reallocate resources with Supervisor to meet customer goals.
• Coordinate with Engineering and other departments to ensure proper workflow.
• Maintain attendance roster for emergency evacuation purposes.
• Participate in 6S audits and implement resulting changes on the floor.
• Monitor inventory (WIP Aging) for area of responsibility.
• Elevate KPI/SLA concerns to supervisor as needed.

Job description

This job is responsible for working with the Supervisors and assisting in training and developing the team, monitoring production performance, ensuring production and quality controls are met while adhering to the work instructions for the area of responsibility.

This role is based at our Irving, TX location with a schedule of Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM- 4:30 PM.

What will be my duties and responsibilities be in this job?

• Working knowledge of shop floor systems (CVision, Oracle, Unit Tracker, Great Plains, Ghost)
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings with Supervisor
• Participate in internal and external customer or vendor meetings
• Work with Supervisor to reallocate resources (people/supplies/products etc.) as needed to meet customer goals
• Work with other departments as needed to ensure proper workflow is achieved
• Point of contact for employees for handling escalation issues
• Work with Engineering to identify and resolve process issues
• Track and maintain daily attendance roster for Emergency Evacuation purposes
• Participate with the 6S Audit team on monthly 6S audits
• Work with supervisor to implement any changes or adjustments on production floor as a result from the audits
• Forklift certified if needed for area of responsibility
• Perform on-the-job (OJT) refresher training and work station assessment
• Monitor inventory levels (WIP Aging) for specific area of responsibility
• Monitor KPI and SLA performance levels and elevate any issues/concerns to supervisor when needed

What are the requirements needed for this position?

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years lead or supervisory experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

• Prior leadership experience in manufacturing, logistics, operations, or another applicable environment preferred
• Ability to collaborate with other departments with their area of responsibility
• Training environment experience
• Forklift certified if needed for area of responsibility
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees
• Must be proficient and certified in the area that they are responsible for leading

Pay Range

$17.34 - $27.75
