Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking Associate Material Process Engineers / Material Process Engineers for a 4/10 schedule (Mon-Thurs) on second shift at Palmdale, CA. The role supports daily shop floor activities in Vehicle Engineering, collaborating with technicians to resolve material and process issues.

The position requires STEM degrees and the ability to obtain a U.S. government clearance; candidates may start at Associate or Engineer level depending on credentials and experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree by Dec 2026 in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or similar STEM field.
• Master’s degree by Dec 2027 or 2 years of related engineering experience by Dec 2026.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance may be required.

Responsibilities

• Answer shop floor assist calls promptly and support technicians.
• Collaborate with shop floor technicians in confined spaces and on elevated platforms.
• Read and interpret specs, author changes, and prepare PowerPoint and Excel data tabulations.
• Write test plans and coordinate with internal/external test labs.
• Research materials and applications for engineering design of structures and subsystems.
