Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Mandarin required.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Supply Chain (Material Planning and Logistics) Manager to build and lead material planning and logistics operations for our Houston manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for material availability, inventory control, inbound and outbound logistics, and coordination with production and global supply chain teams.

Initial six-month expectation: The manager will initially operate as an individual contributor and personally manage day-to-day planning and logistics activities. As the operation grows and team members are hired, the role will transition into broader team leadership while remaining hands-on.

This fully onsite position works closely with production, procurement, engineering, quality, warehouse, finance, global headquarters, and logistics partners across the U.S. and Asia. Fluency in English and Mandarin is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Own material planning and logistics activities during the initial team buildout.
• Develop material plans based on production schedules, forecasts, and inventory levels.
• Monitor material availability and resolve shortages to support uninterrupted production.
• Manage inventory levels, safety stock, lead times, and material flow.
• Coordinate inbound, outbound, domestic, and international shipments.
• Work with procurement, suppliers, warehouses, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
• Maintain accurate planning, inventory, and logistics data in SAP ERP.
• Track delivery performance, freight costs, and logistics issues.
• Identify supply risks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Partner with production, quality, engineering, and finance on operational priorities.
• Develop planning and logistics procedures, reports, and performance metrics.
• Build, train, and lead the material planning and logistics team as the operation grows.
• Follow company policies and manufacturing safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, or a related field.
• 7-10 years of material planning, logistics, or supply chain experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in computer, electronics, or hardware manufacturing preferred.
• Hands-on experience with production planning, inventory control, and logistics operations.
• Proficiency with SAP ERP or a comparable planning and inventory system.
• Knowledge of MRP, forecasting, safety stock, lead times, and material flow.
• Experience coordinating domestic and international transportation.
• Previous team leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin (speaking, reading, and writing) is required.
