Job summary

Openwork is seeking an Import Material Coordinator in Houston, TX to manage import materials end-to-end for a global chemical company. You will orchestrate overseas planning, customs clearance, and delivery while mitigating inventory risks and delays.

The role requires advanced SAP experience (MRP/planning/purchasing), strong analytical skills, and effective cross-functional communication with suppliers, brokers, and internal teams. This is a full-time position with competitive hourly pay.

Responsibilities

Import Material Coordinator

Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a driven Import Material Coordinator in Houston, TX. In this dynamic, high-impact role, you will be responsible for import functions at a global chemical company.

In our Import Material Coordinator job you’ll be responsible for:

• Managing global import materials and finished goods end-to-end, from overseas planning through final customs clearance and delivery.
• Proactively monitoring and mitigating global inventory risks, international shipment delays, customs holds, and supply chain bottlenecks.
• Utilizing advanced SAP modules (MRP, purchasing, inventory management) to streamline global material workflows.
• Partnering cross-functionally with international suppliers, customs brokers, ocean/air freight forwarders, customer service, and internal stakeholders.
• Driving global process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

What you’ll need:

• Proven experience in global imports, international logistics, customs compliance, and supply chain operations.
• Advanced SAP experience in planning, purchasing, or MRP environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.

Work Schedule & Pay:

• Competitive pay rate of $35.00 – $45.00/hour, dependent on experience.
