Job summary

Openwork is seeking an Import Material Coordinator in Houston, TX to manage import materials end-to-end for a global chemical company. You will orchestrate overseas planning, customs clearance, and delivery while mitigating inventory risks and delays.

The role requires advanced SAP experience (MRP/planning/purchasing), strong analytical skills, and effective cross-functional communication with suppliers, brokers, and internal teams. This is a full-time position with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in global imports, international logistics, customs compliance, and supply chain operations.
• Advanced SAP experience in planning, purchasing, or MRP environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing global import materials and finished goods end-to-end, from overseas planning through final customs clearance and delivery.
• Proactively monitoring and mitigating global inventory risks, international shipment delays, customs holds, and bottlenecks.
• Partnering with suppliers, brokers, freight forwarders, customer service, and internal stakeholders to optimize processes.
