Job summary

Logisnext Americas Inc. is seeking a Materials Planner in Houston to ensure material availability for production by interpreting MRP data and releasing purchase orders with suppliers.

The role emphasizes data accuracy and timely communication to maintain uninterrupted material flow. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in material planning within a manufacturing setting, strong analytical skills, and advanced Excel proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 2–5 years in Material Planning and Inventory Management.
• Experience in a Manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; proficient in MS Office.
• MRP database management experience; familiarity with Infor LX ERP.
• Knowledge of Cognos BI/Power BI/MS Access is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interpret MRP data and release POs to suppliers; communicate delivery timing, quantities, and expediting needs.
• Update MRP systems and ensure data integrity for production planning.
• Report on component availability, shortages, and material planning performance.
• Analyze shortages, transit delays, and parameter impacts; propose corrective actions.
• Coordinate handoff of new parts/vendors from commodity managers to buyers/planners.

About The Role

Understanding and implementation of purchasing policies and inventory management principles ensuring MRP component data integrity meeting cost effective and timely availability of components to support production requirements. Uses inventory management principles ensuring MRP systems are maintained adequately for optimal performance. Analyzes, controls and monitors material inventory to optimize inventory levels and minimize material shortages. Generate and distribute various reports needed to understand supply and demand for all the commodities. Perform data analyses as needed to understand part shortage issues, transit delays, and material planning parameters performance evaluations.

What You Will Do

• MRP interpretation, release of PO's to assigned suppliers and communicate supplier feedback with respect to material delivery timing, quantity, expedites, and past due status to appropriate parties. Ensure an uninterrupted material flow for assigned commodity/suppliers in support of the Master Production Schedule.
• Update database and MRP systems to ensure data integrity.
• Reporting of components availability in regards to:
• Manufacturing shortages
• New Product Introduction
• Engineering Order implementation
• Manage departmental targets in regards to:
• Purchase Order Management (past due PO's)
• Supplier delivery performance (pick up date, fill rate, apply rate, delivery date)
• Inventory levels, safety stock, and exposure to obsolescence
• Manage parts hand off process in the MRP system from commodity managers to buyer/planners as new parts or vendors are established.

Qualifications

What you need to have:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 2 – 5 years’ experience
• Background in Material Planning function and Inventory Management
• Experience in a Manufacturing environment
• Strong interest in analytical problem solving and enjoys working with numbers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Advanced knowledge in using Microsoft Excel
• MRP database management experience
• Familiarity with Infor LX ERP platform

What Would Be Nice To Have

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering
• Adequate knowledge in using VBA and Databases
• Experience with business intelligence tools such as Cognos BI, Power BI, and MS Access
