Job summary

Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc. in Arlington, TX is seeking a Material Coordinator to support GM production teams with on-site logistics and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Act as the on-site liaison between Universal Logistics and GM production teams.
• Monitor inbound and outbound material flow to ensure on-time delivery to GM assembly lines.
• Track inventory levels, reconcile shortages/overages, and address discrepancies.
• Coordinate with GM production schedulers and Universal dispatch/planning teams.
• Facilitate communication regarding expedited shipments, holds, or disruptions.
• Support problem-solving for material shortages, damaged goods, or late deliveries.
• Maintain records and prepare daily/weekly material status reports.
• Ensure compliance with GM and Universal policies and safety standards.
• Participate in production and logistics meetings; provide updates and recommendations.
• Build and maintain relationships with GM contacts, Universal management, and third-party providers.

Our operation is based in Arlington, TX and supports General Motors in the area. We manage and operate a warehouse facility providing pick and pack, sequencing, and inventory management support.

Shifts Available:

2nd shift: 2:00pm - 10:00pm

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Act as the on-site liaison between Universal Logistics and GM production teams.

• Facilitate communication regarding expedited shipments, quality holds, or supply chain disruptions.
• Support problem‑solving efforts for material shortages, damaged goods, or late deliveries.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare daily/weekly material status reports.
• Ensure compliance with GM and Universal Logistics policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
• Participate in regular production and logistics meetings, providing updates and recommendations.
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with GM contacts, Universal management, and third-party providers.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (preferred).
• 2–4 years of experience in material coordination, logistics, or automotive supply chain.
• Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and just-in-time (JIT) material delivery.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to serve as a bridge between multiple stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
