Job summary

Universal Logistics in Arlington, TX, is seeking a materials coordinator to support GM production teams. You will act as the on-site liaison, monitor material flow, and help ensure on-time delivery to GM assembly lines.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in logistics, knowledge of JIT, strong organizational and communication skills, and experience with ERP/MRP systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor\'s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • 2–4 years of experience in material coordination or logistics.
  • Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and JIT delivery.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the on-site liaison between Universal Logistics and GM production teams.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound material flow to ensure on-time delivery to GM assembly lines.
  • Track inventory levels and reconcile shortages/overages.
  • Coordinate with GM production schedulers and Universal dispatch/planning teams to align supply chain activities.
  • Facilitate communication regarding expedited shipments, quality holds, or supply chain disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare daily/weekly material status reports.

Logistics Insight Corporation (LINC), a subsidiary of Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc., is a leading third party logistics provider (3PL) that offers a broad scope of services throughout the entire supply chain. LINC's experienced management team, with its state-of-the-art technology, provides customized logistics solutions to its customers resulting in proven efficiencies and savings.

Our operation is based in Arlington, TX and supports General Motors in the area. We manage and operate a warehouse facility providing pick and pack, sequencing, and inventory management support.

Shifts Available:

2nd shift: 2:00pm - 10:00pm

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Act as the on-site liaison between Universal Logistics and GM production teams.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound material flow to ensure on-time delivery to GM assembly lines.
  • Track inventory levels, reconcile shortages/overages, and address any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with GM production schedulers and Universal dispatch/planning teams to align supply chain activities.
  • Facilitate communication regarding expedited shipments, quality holds, or supply chain disruptions.
  • Support problem-solving efforts for material shortages, damaged goods, or late deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare daily/weekly material status reports.
  • Ensure compliance with GM and Universal Logistics policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in regular production and logistics meetings, providing updates and recommendations.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with GM contacts, Universal management, and third-party providers.
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • 2-4 years of experience in material coordination, logistics, or automotive supply chain.
  • Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and just-in-time (JIT) material delivery.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to serve as a bridge between multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
