Job summary

Flextronics America LLC is looking for a Materials Lead for its Austin, TX site. The role leads a team in shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing and delivering materials, with independence and limited supervision.

The 3rd shift runs 11:00pm-7:15am, Sunday-Thursday, and involves coordinating subordinates and maintaining inventory records. You will design stockroom layouts, oversee counts, handle procurement within limits, and verify shipments against documents.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of material experience.
  • Good clerical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers/customers.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to interpret graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and paperwork for documentation.

  • Count, weigh and measure incoming/outgoing items and verify against records.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Materials Lead located in Austin, TX.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Materials Lead is responsible for leading the work of others and participates in work related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies. Works with independence in carrying out duties with limited supervision.

3rd Shift: 11:00pm-7:15am(Sunday-Thursday)

What a typical day looks like:

  • Coordinates the activities of subordinates.

  • Reviews difficult or complex work procedures to resolve questions presented by workers.

  • Ensures accurate, up-to-date records of inventory in stockroom and daily operations; completes necessary forms or paperwork for documentation.

  • Designs stockroom layout and oversees rearranging process.

  • Oversees and participates in counting, weighing and measuring incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.

  • Examines incoming shipments for damage or shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify; fills out appropriate forms or documents.

  • Fills orders and issues materials and supplies per requests; documents transactions, prepares requisitions and computes costs; keeps records of storeroom inventory.

  • Oversees and participates in ordering or purchasing a variety of stock items such as recommending changes to standard items or stock levels and ordering items using independent judgment within established limits.

  • Determines method of shipment based on knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates; packages, weighs and marks container for shipment; prepares necessary forms such as bills of lading.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of material experience

  • Use of the following tools may be required: Office Skills: typing, telephones, office software to include, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation package and database systems. Warehouse skills: forklift, electronic scales, pallet jack, measuring tools, and alignment tools.

  • Required good clerical and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
