Job summary

Raba Kistner, Inc. is seeking a detailed-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our San Antonio team. You will sample, process, and test construction materials per ASTM/AASHTO/DOT guidelines, document results, and support billing and maintenance tasks.

The role requires knowledge of HMA, CMU, soils, and aggregates testing, certifiable qualifications or the ability to obtain them within six months. Expect a safety-focused, hands-on lab environment with potential travel and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or current relevant industry certification such as ACI Field, ACI Concrete Strength, ACI Aggregates, TxDOT SB101/SB102/SB103/SB201/SB202, 1A or 1B or other comparable certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical/index/chemical construction material laboratory testing (concrete, HMA, soils, aggregate).
• Properly document hours worked and assist in client billing efforts.
• Maintain equipment calibration and perform routine maintenance.
• Keep a neat, clean, and safe laboratory and workspace.
• Maintain relevant certifications and follow safety programs.
• Meet deadlines and priorities per procedures.
• Demonstrate safe handling of tools/equipment and company vehicle.
• Communicate effectively with internal/external personnel and adhere to safety rules.
• Potential travel to various offices/sites as needed.
