  • Carries out SOPs for receipt, storage and issuing of materials.
  • Directs, coordinates, and expedites internal flow of materials across production control, purchasing, shipping and receiving.
  • Reviews department/plant measurables and establishes corrective actions for performance.

Job Summary:

The Materials Coordination Supervisor manages all material functions for the flow of materials, from supplier through production to customer, ensuring maximum customer service, minimum inventory investment, minimum transportation costs and efficient plant operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Hires, trains, and supervises employees.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Directs and coordinates the application, implementation, and activities of the Company's MRP/ERP system to maximize its utilization across functional areas.
  • Develops strategies to support the company's Business Plan objectives and targets.
  • Facilitates plant physical inventory and acts as a liaison with Façon’s internal facilities.
  • Responsible for the MRP data associated with making parts, running MRP to determine manufacturing supply requirements, managing open production orders, and properly closing production orders.
  • Works within & according to all company health & safety guidelines.
  • Carries out the required SOPs for the proper receipt, storage and issuing of materials.
  • Directs, coordinates, and expedites internal flow of materials, parts, and assemblies as it relates to production control, purchasing, shipping and receiving.
  • Reviews department/plant measurables (customer delivery, supplier delivery, premium freight, and inventory) and establishes corrective measures for performance adherence.
  • Evaluates materials / parts to quality standards before issuing.
  • Maintains required inventory levels for line side and supermarket locations per SOP’s.
  • Follows standard pull list to kit material for processing.
  • Executes cycle count activities and inventory discrepancy investigations.
  • Monitors, maintains, and reduces inventory levels to meet needs of production and customers by establishing reorder points and safety stock for target level parts, supervises inventory counts on daily (if required) and annual basis, reviews variances, and monitor finished goods inventory levels to ensure on-time compliance to customer release requirements.
  • Conducts data entry tasks for various material movement activities and production job transactions.
  • Supports activities associated with daily and weekly production scheduling activities.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Assists other departments when needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to operate a forklift, walk behind unit, or overhead crane.
  • Possesses strong attention to detail abilities.
  • MS Office skills and basic spreadsheet skills.
  • Basic computer skills needed to work within company ERP system.
  • Possesses basic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate either verbally or electronically.
  • Ability to be resilient in the face of adversity.
  • Ability to lead by example.
  • Ability to encourage cooperation and teamwork.

Education and Experience:

  • High school Degree or equivalent
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to handle short term weather conditions for retrieval and put away of material in outside warehousing locations.
