Job summary

Spartan Steel Coating, a Worthington Steel Joint Venture, is seeking a Material Handler to move material around the plant and assist with shipping and rail movements.

Shifts run 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am with 4 days on/off rotation; ability to work on days or nights. Requires ability to stand 12 hours, basic math, reading tape measures, and safety compliance.

Starting pay is $19.76/hour plus $1 shift differential; benefits from day one, 401k, and opportunities for growth and development.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand for 12 hours and perform physical, repetitive work.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and basic math/computer skills.
• Able to read a tape measure and follow detailed instructions.
• Must understand and follow safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• You will start out in banding and packaging coiled steel.
• Operate banding tools and read production orders or BOM.
• Maintain safety and quality standards; detect defects and report issues.
• Read, comprehend and follow detailed instructions in production processes.
• Must be able to count and label parts accurately and understand part numbers.

Join our team as a Material Handler. This role moves material around the plant with a large crane in order for production to run smoothly. The position is responsible for assisting with shipping duties and rail movements in a timely, safe and efficient manner.

• 7am-7pm / 7pm-7am
• Trained on Days or Nights

• 0-6 months prior experience
• Forklift and crane license
• Must have valid driver's license
