JOB SUMMARY:

The Molding Material Handler - Wrapper for the injection molding department is responsible for transitioning raw material to the production environment. This includes material changeovers and keeping production machines stocked with correct materials. The material handler will also assist the assembly production line in supplying necessary parts and delivery of finished goods to inventory.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform material changeovers on injection molding machines
• Disassemble and clean out hoppers and dryers
• Load hoppers with correct materials based on corresponding work orders
• Keep running machines stocked with enough material to satisfy the work order
• Transfer finished goods as well as supplies to assembly and injection molding area
• Retains a clean working environment with great attention to detail
• Work closely with shift leadership and maintenance to reduce downtime
• Self-directed willing to work with minimal supervision following the day’s planned schedule
• Sustain, help develop the “5S” program, maintain clean, safe work area
• Assist Mold Technicians with mold set-ups, and machine restarts
• Drive various material handling equipment fork truck, pallet jack, lift stacker
• Perform other activities as directed by supervision
• Follow all Channell policies and procedures

KNOWLEDGE OF:

• Good mechanical skills, use of hand/power tools
• Good understanding of quality and safety practices

ABILITY TO/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

• Must understand and follow all departmental safety rules
• Read and understand written assembly instructions
• Understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
• ISO sections about the position

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

• Must be able to speak, read/comprehend and write in English
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds

• Capacity to work overtime as needed
• Good vision (this can be accomplished with corrective lenses), central and peripheral vision in both eyes to detect objects or movement in the field of view
