Job summary

Graphic Packaging International is seeking a Material Handler with sit-down forklift certification to perform material handling across the manufacturing floor. You will stage loads, manage pallets, wrap and prepare shipments, and support multiple departments while keeping a safe, organized workspace.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, basic math, and English literacy. Reliable attendance and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs are expected. Competitive benefits accompany this position.

Responsibilities

• Perform all material handling on the manufacturing floor, safely coordinating with departments.
• Stage loads of product and manage pallets for palletizing.
• Stretch-wrap loads and prepare shipments.
• Palletize and wrap roll cores for transportation.
• Load roll cores on scrap trailer and dispose of waste as documented.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and report issues to the warehouse crew.
• Complete daily forklift maintenance and communicate problems.

Material Handler - Sit Down Forklift

• Position Summary
• Perform all the material handling responsibilities on the manufacturing floor, between all departments in a safe manner.
• Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Work with department teams to follow their schedules in order to meet all material handling responsibilities.
• Stage loads of product.
• Pallet management to include pallet removal and placement for palletizing.
• Stretch-wrap loads to prepare for shipment.
• Corrugate at packing end of gluers.
• Palletize and wrap the roll cores for transportation.
• Load roll cores on scrap trailer.
• Dispose of printed waste once the teams have documented the waste.
• Help teams keep area neat and clean: sweep, re-pile pallets, fix broken pallets, etc.
• Complete daily forklift maintenance and communicate problems to warehouse crew.
• Notify warehouse when dumpster is full.

• Must be willing and able to create and maintain a good working relationship with all team members – be a part of the team.
• Works with all manufacturing departments
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Certification to operate a sit down forklift in a safe and proper manner.
• Ability to work well with little direct supervision.
• Mechanically inclined
• Have good organizational skills.
• Able to train other people how to do your job.
• Be able to follow procedures.
• Must be self-motivated.

Education And Experience

• High School/GED diploma

• Ability to climb into/out of sit down forklifts, clamp trucks, etc. as required by job duties.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Be willing and able to work any shift and overtime when needed.
