Job summary

BlueLinx Corporation, a leading wholesale distributor of building and industrial products in the United States, is seeking a dedicated Material Handler/Forklift Operator at our San Antonio distribution center.

You will operate forklift, load/unload materials, prepare distribution paperwork, perform daily equipment inspections, and help maintain a clean, safe workspace. The role offers a fixed wage of $22.95 per hour, Monday–Friday schedule, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• One year or more forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and follow safety guidelines.
• Ability to read and interpret orders and safety material.
• Stable work history with reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars, minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare paperwork for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and assist inventory counts.

What You’ll Do

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk)
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What We’re Looking For

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience
• Ability to proficiently and safely use forklift to transport products, load/unload trucks
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Ability to work independently at times under pressure
• Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read/comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.
• Safe work record and stable work history
