Job summary

BlueLinx Holdings Inc. is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator at our distribution center in San Antonio, TX. This role offers a fixed pay rate of $22.95 per hour with a Monday–Friday schedule, focusing on safe operation of forklifts and efficient handling of building materials.

You will load/unload, store materials, prepare shipping paperwork, perform equipment checks, keep areas clean, and assist with periodic inventory counts while maintaining a reliable work history.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to proficiently and safely use a forklift to transport products, load/unload trucks.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work independently, at times under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What You’ll Do:
