Job summary

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Material Handler (Rebond- Shredder) on our 3rd shift at the Temple, TX plant. You will safely operate a forklift to feed a shredding machine that processes foam for high-quality carpet cushion products.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, forklift experience or certification, tape measure reading, HAZMAT training, and annual audiometric and pulmonary testing. Excellent health benefits and career growth opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• High school or GED required.
• Forklift experience or ability to complete certification.
• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
• HAZMAT Training completed.
• Annual audiometric and pulmonary testing required.
• Strong reading, writing and math skills.
• Clear communication and teamwork; adaptable to changes.

Responsibilities

• Load the shredder using a forklift with a cage to prevent falls.
• Verify shredder is in proper working order daily.
• Adjust and configure shredder control settings for foam type.
• Feed shredder at a steady rate to maximize production.
• Coordinate with Grinding Operator to ensure correct materials.
• Observe safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
