Material Handler

As a Material Handler, you will load, unload, process, and store hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials at a permitted waste treatment facility under supervision.

Essential Functions & Requirements

• Prioritize health and safety by following policies and safe practices
• Operate equipment like forklifts, Bob Cats, and other tools safely in accordance with regulations
• Label, pack, and process waste materials properly
• Manage liquid waste and perform spill cleanup and housekeeping duties
• Perform chemical compatibility checks and document activities using barcode systems
• Review laboratory data for proper handling and disposal
• Utilize DOT knowledge for labeling and shipping
• Handle samples and operate hydraulic bailers
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Comply with EPA, DOT, OSHA, and permit regulations
• Use PPE appropriately and support team duties as assigned

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; experience may substitute
• 24/40 hour HAZWOPER Certification preferred

Experience

• 1+ years related experience preferred

Competencies

• Knowledge of EPA, DOT, OSHA regulations
• Teamwork skills
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs outdoors during a 12-hour shift
• Willingness to wear PPE including respirator
• Reliable attendance
