Insteel Industries, established in 1953 with its Home Office in Mount Airy, NC, is the nation's largest manufacturer of steel wire reinforcing products for concrete construction. We produce prestressed concrete (PC) strand, welded wire reinforcement, engineered structural mesh, concrete pipe reinforcement, and standard welded wire reinforcement across eleven manufacturing facilities in nine states.

Position Overview

A Material Handler safely moves raw and finished materials using equipment such as forklifts and cranes. Responsibilities include wearing PPE, reporting issues, following safety and company policies, and maintaining a clean work area.

Key Responsibilities

1. Follow safety procedures for shipping/receiving
2. Inspect finished product quality visually
3. Load, band, and store materials appropriately
4. Perform cycle counts and inventory transfers
5. Operate forklifts and cranes (certification required)
6. Assist with other shipping duties as needed

Requirements and Education

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to complete forms and understand instructions
• Basic arithmetic skills
• Equivalent experience may be considered

Job Details

Full-time, Night shift (2 pm - 10 pm). Duties may evolve as per management's discretion. All employees may be asked to perform additional duties as needed.
