Job summary

Worthington Steel is seeking a Manufacturing Associate to move material around the plant using forklift and crane operations, prepare machines, and stage material for production. The role involves packaging, labeling, and ensuring timely flow of materials to support efficient manufacturing processes.

Candidates should be able to perform physical, repetitive work, read and follow production instructions in English, and maintain safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Must be able to handle physical, repetitive work and stand for 12 hrs a day.
• Must have good hand-eye coordination.
• Mechanical aptitude is a plus but not required.
• Competent in basic math and computer skills.
• Able to operate banding tools and read a tape measure.
• Must understand and follow quality policies and procedures.
• Must read, comprehend and follow detailed instructions in English.
• Must count and label parts accurately.
• Must follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Move material around plant using a forklift and/or crane for production, finishing, packaging, or shipping.
• Ensure areas are supplied with parts and remove finished skids to the warehouse.
• Move and stage material as scheduled for optimal machine efficiency.
• Provide machine support by emptying scrap tubs and keeping lines clear.
• Locate material into finished goods as needed.
• Package finished product for shipment.
• Track orders and label parts.
• Follow the bill of material to match product with packaging and skidding.
• May perform finishing duties and housekeeping tasks as needed.
