Job summary

Metalcraft Of Mayville, Inc. is seeking a 1st Shift Material Handler in West Bend, WI. Reports to Production Supervisor and maintains records for outbound shipments while managing stock for all stations in the department. Shift is Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 1:30pm.

The role requires forklift experience within a metal fabrication setting, basic math, and a proactive, team-oriented approach to meet production goals and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 2 years forklift experience ideally in a metal fabrication shop.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience moving large metal objects.
• Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Loads, unloads, and moves materials within plant, yard, or work site. Reads work orders or instructions to determine materials to move.
• Moves materials onto/from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Conveys materials to storage or work sites using a forklift or other device.
• Occasional operation of industrial truck or hoist to assist in loading/moving materials.
• Complete daily forklift inspection before starting work.
• Assist with housekeeping per the 6S plan and safety standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

The material handler will report to the Production Supervisor in the West Bend plant. This position is responsible for maintaining and verifying the records and documentation of outbound shipments from the lines and keeping stock for all stations within the department.
Seeking a 1st Shift Material Handler. Hours: M-F, 6am-1:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, performing any combination of following duties: Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Conveys materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area, using a forklift, hand truck, electric dolly, or other device.
• May occasionally operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Required to fill out an daily inspection before starting up the forklift
• Assists with routine or general housekeeping tasks as they relate to the plants 6s plan.
• Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
