Job summary

UVMMC is seeking a Material Handler to support Supply Chain Services. You will inventory nursing PAR areas, restock medical-surgical and linen supplies, and enter replenishment orders into the MMIS system. You may also pick and deliver supplies to customers using hand or electric equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma, reliable teamwork, and the ability to learn stocking procedures while meeting performance standards. Weekends are included with a 5:00 AM start time on the day shift.

Please note this is a full-time 40 hour/week position. It is on the day shift working 5am - 1:30pm, working every weekend. There is a $2.75/hr differential on top of your rate of pay for weekend hours.

Position Summary:

The Material Handler position consists of manifold responsibilities within Supply Chain Services. Individuals interested in this position must be willing to learn and perform varied tasks and have the flexibility to work various shifts and schedules. The Material Handler is responsible for inventorying and restocking nursing PAR areas for medical-surgical and linen supplies, entering replenishment orders into the MMIS computer application, picking supplies, and making deliveries of varied types to customers. This position is responsible for use of manual and electric material handling equipment. Material Handler staff may be called upon to perform any one or more of these functions based on a particular job assignment.

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent.

Must be able to bend and be on your feet 8 hours a day

Lifting and Carrying 35-50 pounds

Pushing and Pulling over 74 pounds

Previous pick, pack and shipping experience in either a distribution or retail environment strongly preferred. Must have strong customer service skills and excellent attention to detail. Looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team. Computer skills preferred. The successful candidate will be dependable and a quick learner.
