Job summary

Alene Candles, located at 1 Bon Terrain Drive, Amherst, NH, is hiring a Material Handler III (Logistics) for first shift, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime during busy season. The role pays $22.25/hour, onsite at our Amherst facility.

You will handle material movement, palletizing, and inventory tasks using WMS and powered equipment. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in a warehouse role, forklift and jack operation experience, and familiarity with scanning guns and WMS systems.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2-5 years warehouse experience.
  • 2-5 years forklift experience.
  • 2-5 years power jack experience.
  • 2-5 years riding jack experience.
  • Experience using a scanning gun.
  • Experience using WMS system.
  • Experience loading/unloading 53-foot trailers and box trucks.
  • Inventory control experience.

Responsibilities

  • Locate, pick, move and store material and equipment per established procedures.
  • Use WMS system to generate pick lists and transport tasks to move materials.
  • Operate hand and powered pallet movers, fork trucks, and banders/ wrap equipment.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records using paper forms, computer systems, or RF Scan Guns.
  • Count items and audit pallets for inventory accuracy.
  • Read production schedules to perform kitting as required.

The Hours

The hours for this position are first shift, Monday - Friday. During our busy season we anticipate there being some Overtime available. Busy season is happening now and we anticipate it continuing through October but this can change subject to the needs of the business.

The Pay

The Material Handler III (Logistics) position pays $22.25/hour.

The Location

We are located at 1 Bon Terrain Drive, Amherst, NH. This position is onsite.

Additional Job Details
  • Follows and complies with all safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintains individual work area/equipment in a neat, orderly manner.
  • Obtain and maintain proper training for powered industrial trucks. Maintain daily logs.
  • Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment/ tooling, defective materials, and unusual conditions to supervisor.
  • Use material handling equipment such as hand and powered pallet movers, fork trucks, and some powered packing equipment such as banders and stretch wrap machine.
  • Use WMS system to keep inventory accurate.
  • Locate, pick, move and store material and equipment according to established procedures, both written and verbal.
  • Stretch Wrap pallets.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records using various paper forms, computer systems, or RF Scan Guns.
  • Count items and audit pallets for inventory accuracy.
  • Pick Finished Goods cases per customer order.
  • Label individual cases as per labeling instructions.
  • Build pallets per customer specs.
  • Read and understand Production Schedule to perform kitting function.
  • Use WMS system to generate pick lists and transport tasks to move materials.
  • Split material pallets per pick list.
  • Create HU pallet labels in WMS.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
Education Required
  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
Range Of Experience
  • 2-5 years warehouse experience
  • 2-5 years of experience operating a forklift.
  • 2-5 years of experience operating a power jack
  • 2-5 years of experience operating a riding jack
Preferred Skills
  • Experience using a scanning gun.
  • Experience using WMS system.
  • Experience loading and unloading 53-foot trailers and box trucks.
  • Experience and understanding of BIN transfers.
  • Inventory Control experience.
  • Good Problem-Solving Skills.
  • Ability to add, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to cross-train in other departments.
Physical Demands And Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to handle or touch, reach, talk, hear, and smell. The employee may be required to kneel, crouch, sit, climb, or balance. The employee may lift and/or move up to more than 50 pounds with assistance. Employees need to be able to stand for 8-10 hours. The employee needs to be able to do repetitive lifting motions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee may be regularly exposed to moving mec anical parts, and aromas. The employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles.
