Job summary

Alene Candles is seeking a Batch Technician for our Milford, NH facility. Shifts run 3:00 am – 1:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, with possible overtime during busy seasons. The role involves following batch sheets, preparing wax batches, and maintaining precise inventory and documentation.

You must lift up to 50 pounds and work in a team environment. The position pays $24.00 per hour with a $2,000 sign-on bonus ($1,000 in the first paycheck and $1,000 after 90 days).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 12 months related experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Follow batch sheets and standard formulas to measure components.
  • Combine components in tanks to produce wax batches.
  • Maintain records of drums and fragrances used.
  • Coordinate with supervision to meet production demand.
  • Identify low inventory and alert supervision for shortages.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area and proper equipment care.
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Perform basic arithmetic across units of measure.
  • Ensure color vision is adequate for job tasks.

If you have previously worked as a Line Cook, Chef, or in an environment where you had to follow instructions to the T, you may have the skills to be a Batch Technician with Alene Candles! The Batch Technician is a physical role with lifting, bending, twisting, and being on your feet the entire shift. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently. If you are good with basic math, have a keen attention to detail, like baking or cooking, following recipes, and a team environment, then the Batch Technician position might be for you!

The Hours

The hours for this position are 3:00 am - 1:00 pm, Monday - Thursday, although the start time may vary depending on the needs of the business.

During our busy season we anticipate there being some Overtime available. Busy season is happening now and we anticipate it running through October. The final two weeks of the year, we are shut down for the holidays and inventory. During this time we cannot guarantee full time hours for our employees.

The Pay

The Batch Technician I position pays $24.00/hour.

In addition, we are offering a $2,000 sign on bonus, split into two payments. The first payment of $1,000 will be included in your first paycheck, and the final $1,000 payment will be paid in your first check after completing 90 days of service.

The Location

We are located at 51 Scarborough Lane, Milford, NH. This position is onsite.

Additional Job Details
  • Required to follow batch sheets and standard formulas to accurately identify and measure amounts and weights of components for each job when required or use prepared "kit" of materials ready for mixing. Complete all necessary paperwork thoroughly and accurately to meet company and customer SOP's.
  • Combine components in tanks to produce and supply wax batches for fill lines.
  • Maintain accurate records of each drum to track fragrance and other components used.
  • Review work schedules and work with Supervision to anticipate and meet production demand.
  • Develop component knowledge to alert Supervision of low inventory levels or potential shortages and maintain records for proper and accurate inventory control.
  • Maintain the condition of equipment and tools assigned to the area as well as cleanliness and organization of the area to assure a safe working environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Specific vision ability to distinguish between color.
Education Required
  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
Range Of Experience
  • 12 months related experience
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs independently

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Physical Demands And Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to handle or touch, reach, talk, hear, and smell. The employ e may be required to kneel, crouch, sit, climb, or balance. The employee may lift and/or move up to more than 50 pounds with assistance. Employees need to be able to stand for 8-10 hours. The employee needs to be able to do repetitive lifting motions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee may be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, and aromas. The employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
