Job summary

Atkore in Thomasville, GA is seeking a Material Handler II to join our on-site manufacturing team. This role reports to the Production Supervisor and focuses on packing finished goods, monitoring for defects, and assisting in start-up or changeover of products while keeping the work area clean and organized.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, basic machine operation or mechanical skills, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Machine operation or mechanical skill set experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes desired.
• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Bundle pipe according to inventory and shipping specifications.
• Update Hour by Hour boards and compare colors, shapes, textures or grades of products or material with templates or samples to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Operate and observe machinery during production, assist with Quality Control duties utilizing quality tools.
• Collaborate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers to achieve productivity and site goals.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions immediately.
